Grace and Peace, Members and Friends of the Rehoboth Congregational Church!
Friends, thank you for the grace you showed to me on Sunday when I tackled the subject of money, pledging and stewardship from the pulpit. These are not easy subjects to preach on, but the love and support I felt as soon as I said, "Thanks be to God! Amen." has reminded me the true depth of #RCCSTRONG.
That being said ...
Stewardship packets were mailed out last week. If, for some reason, you did not get one at your house, please let me know and we will get one in the mail. We are asking you now to prayerfully discern your level of giving for the 2018 year and return your pledge cards (either to the office or in the offering plates) by Sunday, November 5th.
I want to take this opportunity to give a plug for electronic giving. 2018 will be the third year Bruce and I have taken advantage of this opportunity and it really helps us stay on track with our pledge! We choose to have our money withdrawn once a month, at the beginning of the month (although I believe there is a twice a month option as well). I love knowing it is taken care of right away and I don't have to remember to write a check or keep track of how much I owe myself. There is a blue authorization form in the stewardship packet if you are interested in signing up!
I met with the Trustees on Monday night and we were discussing ways to increase our financial transparency here at the church. It is their hope that by the beginning of next year, regular reports and updates will be posted in the Epistle and bulletin.
These money talks are not always fun, but they are a necessary part of running the church. And when we do approach these conversations with patience and honesty, we always find a little bit of grace along the way.
See you on Sunday!
In Christ's love,

Do You Own a Timeshare, or Condo?
Many of you are looking for an opportunity to make a donation to our very successful Silent Auction, yet can't find that one thing that you can offer. Well if you have a timeshare, or condo, this might be something that you had not thought about offering. If you would like to consider making a donation of a week, or weekend, at your vacation spot, the Silent Auction would love to offer it. Contact Ray Medeiros, 508-496-0171, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And yes we are still looking for gift certificates, and quality items for the Silent Auction. Maybe look for that one thing that Aunt Martha gave you for your wedding, many years ago, and is still in the box! Aunt Martha would be very happy to see it go to a good cause.
Mrs. Claus' Closet: Any gently used Christmas items (decorations, serving dishes, candle holders...etc. can be dropped off at the church anytime. I can pick them up there. Thanks, Barb Medeiros email@example.com /508-252-9470
