Grace and Peace, Members and Friends of the Rehoboth Congregational Church!
This is a very important weekend at the Rehoboth Congregational Church. At our Annual Meeting on Sunday, which will take place immediately following worship, the task force that has been looking at our organization and governance will be presenting their proposal for a new structure. Provided this passes, the congregation will also vote on a nomination slate for the newly-formed Executive Board.
As a congregation, one of our greatest challenges is communication. Even the task force, knowing that is one of the problems we are trying to address with a new structure, has struggled at times to communicate! This is why it is important for you to come to the meeting on Sunday, hear what they have to say and ask questions. An email was sent on Saturday afternoon outlining the new structure, so please refer to that, as well! We all want to make sure there is 100% transparency before we vote!
I want to thank the members of the task force for working so faithfully and diligently since May. Thank you to Steve Brasier, Ray Medeiros, Abbie St. Martin, Neal Manchester and Mike Barger. They spent a lot of time looking at our current structure, the history of the church and also where we are, as a community, today. They were prayerful in their discussions and spoke with joy and hope about the future of our church in the village. God is calling us to do great things and I cannot wait to continue our journey together!
My prayers are with you all this Advent season!
See you on Sunday.
