Grace and Peace, Members and Friends of the Rehoboth Congregational Church!
Happy New Year, everyone! I pray you all had a wonderful holiday celebration and are looking at 2018 with hope and great expectations.
Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2nd (annual?) worship brunch! Nearly 80 people gathered; we ate, worshiped, sang and shared the most wonderful fellowship together.
This Sunday is Star Sunday. We did this for the first time last year; everyone received a star with a word on it and we were all supposed to let that word guide us throughout the year. (This is timed with Epiphany, where we reflect on the Wise Men following the star to Jesus). This Sunday we will hear a few "star stories" from people in the congregation and receive new words for 2018.
See you on Sunday!
WORSHIP THIS WEEK
Sunday, January 7, 2018 | 10:00 am
Scripture: Isaiah 60:1-6 and Matthew 2:1-12
IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER It's that time of year and as we're preparing this Epistle there are Blizzard Warnings for our area! Before heading out to the office, please call to see if we're open. There will be a message left on the answering machine if we are closed. If Sunday morning worship is cancelled, you can find out three ways:
By email. If you already receive the Epistle by email, you will receive an email notifying you that worship is cancelled.
By calling our Office Phone. (508-252-4545) There will be a message stating if Worship is cancelled.
Please note: if worship has not been cancelled, please use your judgement when deciding whether or not to come out. If you decide to worship at home, Rev. Sarah will post her sermon to her blog: www.preachinginpumps.com (and also available via podcast) following worship. If you do not have access to a computer and would like a copy of the sermon, just ask Rev. Sarah.
THANK YOU, WKB! Thank you to the WKB for purchasing five new highchairs for Fellowship Hall to accommodate our growing population of little ones at RCC! Harrison tested them out on Saturday night and four of them were put to use at worship brunch on Sunday!
ADULT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION & SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
January 14, 2018 | After Worship
There will be an informational/organizational meeting for the new committee, Adult Christian Education and Spiritual Development after church on January 14, 2018 at 11:30 am. I am very excited about this new committee and the many possibilities it offers in growth for our church family. This meeting will establish our goals, outline our mission statement and give opportunity for those interested in joining to hare their ideas about forming the committee, plans and projects for the short-term and how this committee will move forward in the life and ministry of RCC.
The slate is clean! This is an amazing opportunity, a new beginning to make a positive, faithful difference in how RCC approaches its goals to continue educational faith growth in our community. I look forward to seeing you there.
If you have any questions, please contact Mike Sullivan-Silva at email@example.com.
MRS. CLAUS' CLOSET
Bazaar Request for Mrs. Claus' Closet 2018
As you are un-decorating this Christmas season, please set aside a box of things (gently used décor) that you don't want to keep for next year. (Fall or Christmas)
This year Mrs. C's closet raised over $700 for the church with gently used but useful Christmas items. I need to replace that inventory each year and will be looking for those boxes of treasures next October. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all. Barb Medeiros

The Greeters welcome members and visitors in the Narthex prior to church service. The RCC Greeter ministry is a wonderful opportunity to take part in worship! You just need to arrive 30 minutes prior to service. All are welcome: families, couples, groups, singles. All make GREAT greeters! Please sign up in the Narthex!
Acolytes light our Alter candles during the Introit or Prelude. They meet with the Deacon in the Narthex at 9:50 am to get instruction and fitted for a robe. If your child is interested, there is a signup sheet in the Narthex. If you have any questions, please talk to any Deacon.
The Bell Ringers ring the bell twice on Sunday: 10 minutes prior to start of worship and just at the beginning of worship. All ages welcome. See the Deacon in the back if you are interested in ringing the bell Sunday morning!
It's that time of year!
